Visit to Roma Project

Last month we had the great pleasure of welcoming official guests along with members of the community at the Roma Project office.

The official visit to the Roma Project was a momentous occasion, marked by the presence of esteemed guests who shared a common goal of promoting inclusivity and social development. HE Laura Popescu, The Romanian Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland led the delegation, bringing with them a message of solidarity and support for the Romanian and Roma communities.

Accompanying the ambassador were several distinguished guests, including West Midlands Deputy Lieutenant, Mr. Les Ratcliffe, who represented the broader region and its commitment to fostering harmonious relationships among diverse communities. His presence symbolized the importance placed on collaboration and understanding.

Coventry Lord Mayor together with Lady Mayoress also attended the event, lending their support to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of marginalized communities. Their participation highlighted the local government’s dedication to empowering individuals and creating opportunities for all residents.

Additionally, the Member of Parliament for Coventry South, Honourable Zarah Sultana, played an integral role in the official visit. As a representative of the area, she recognized the significance of engaging with the Roma community, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed at the national level.

Last but not least, the iconic figure of Lady Godiva, represented by Pru Porretta, graced the gathering, capturing the essence of Coventry’s history and cultural heritage. Her presence resonated deeply, reminding everyone of the city’s historic roots and the importance of preserving and celebrating diversity.
